Yolo Food Bank depends on the more than 10,000 volunteer hours contributed annually by groups and individuals in the community. In fact, we could not operate without this critical support. If you are an individual 16 years of age or older or if you are with a business, service club, youth group, or faith-based organization looking for ways to make a difference in your community, Yolo Food Bank has many volunteer opportunities.
The Health Education Council is always looking for volunteers to participate on our various projects. Whether you are willing to make a long-term commitment with our organization, or are interested in one or two events a year, we want you to be a part of our team.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. Each year, Empower Yolo volunteers assist over 2,000 callers on our 24-hour crisis hotline. Volunteers staff the hotline, provide program support, and make up our Board of Directors. They are professionals, business leaders, and residents of our community. All advocates and crisis line volunteers complete an intensive 65-hour training program prior to working on the hotline.
Play a role in saving the lives of Yolo County residents. Join the dedicated volunteers who answer our phones – the first point of human contact in the steps toward mental health. Volunteers undergo a 36-hour training program in which they develop the skills needed to manage issues of depression, suicide, family relationship conflicts and mental illness. Initially, volunteers serve six hours per week and donate a one-year service commitment upon successful completion of the training program. Please join us. Your voice and your ear are more valuable than you can imagine. Volunteers have been, and continue to be the backbone of this agency. Quality training provides volunteers with the opportunity to participate in the increased well-being, not only of themselves, but of the community they live in.
We have many volunteer opportunities helping at our office, special events and as a side walker for our Saddle Pals program. We are always looking to expand our team of people dedicated to our mission of enhancing the lives of people with developmental disabilities like autism, epilepsy, intellectual disability, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy. Volunteer today and help someone in your community live life without limits!
There are many opportunities to volunteer at YCCC. We always need help with general landscaping, basic cleaning and maintenance. Other larger projects may arise that need a team of volunteers that may be completed in one day or span over a period of time.
The YMCA of Superior California welcomes volunteers in all areas of our association. Duties range in responsibility from reading to our preschool students to coaching youth sports to greeting members at our front desk. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, we can work together to find a placement that fits your availability, personality and interests.

We are desperate for drivers and runners in both Woodland and West Sacramento areas. Volunteers would use their own car to pick up and deliver meals to home bound seniors from the local senior center sites. Opportunities are for Mon - Fri, between 10:30am and 12:15pm. A one day a week commitment, once a month or whatever your schedule allows. We also need kitchen aides at the Woodland senior center site. Opportunities are for Mon - Fri, between 9am and 12:30pm, as often as your schedule allows.
